Somatic healing integrates methods that focus on healing both the mind and body. It allows you to move beyond cognitive loops and connect with your felt experiences, fostering self-awareness, emotional processing and post-traumatic growth.
As a Somatic Trauma Informed coach, I approach your healing journey with a unique perspective that is different than other healing modalities you may have experience with. I understand the deep effects that trauma has on the nervous system and that your experiences go beyond the present moment. I get it! It’s not just about what shows up for you today, it’s about the whole story and the root cause. Past trauma and stress affect our somatic beliefs on a deep level. I’m here to tell you that it IS possible to change your somatic beliefs of the past so you can process the grief, guilt, shame, pain and trauma and pave the way for a joyful and authentic life.

I recently worked with Heidi using the Brainspotting method of addressing personal trauma. While I have participated over the years in traditional cognitive therapy, the BSP method allowed me to unlock parts of my experience that were continuing to prevent me from feeling truly healed. Additionally, I learned that certain behaviors I perceived as negative (suspicion, controlling, perfectionism, etc.) were actually just part of what are called "Internal Family Systems." These behaviors come up when I perceive I need to protect myself from something, only I didn't realize I was doing that! Now when I notice the behaviors, I can step back and examine the situation to determine if my response is best serving my mental and emotional health. I am very grateful for the skills Heidi helped me develop. Her wisdom, humor, and experience were a valuable part of my experience.
